Video statements
Article do's and dont's
Okay so after reading that article I have recognized that I have done a couple of those subjects. It may have been only one since for the other i'm not completely sure I did. But I know for a fact that on the project last week I took out every blemish on her skin. Her skin did look pretty fake. I also might have made her eyes pretty strong. I will have to check my photos to see what I did well. This article makes a lot of sense to me. It seems like common sense stuff, that is probably why its so easy to do them...

Comment on Video and blog
In this video I learned how to take away blemishes in pixelmator, the stamp tool! I didn't know that that was the way to get blemishes removed, you copy part of the persons face and then stamp over the blemish! I also learned more about the lasso tool, I know it's sad but I still didn't know that much about how to work it. I learned more in general just how to edit an image.

Photos and how I think it turned out...
This photo was backlight, i was thinking of having a very dark Grant next to a light. Maybe with some snow to add in. I chose this one because it was the darkest and Grant really did look like a silhouette. I think it turned out pretty good, considering I was at his house and I only had my Ipod.
In this photo I did posing. I wanted to have him to have growth in the photo but to still have him be the center of attention. I wish I had had a wider lens so that I could include more plants in the image. I think this picture turned out fine. It would have been better had I had a wider lens.
This one I am particularly proud of. I really love the candle igniting his face in a yellow glow. In the editing process I did give it more yellow so that the candle would have more effect. I would think this one turned out good, on a scale on 1-10 I would give it a 7 or a 8.
This one was ment to be serious, I was telling Grant to pretend that you lost the war and all of your friends died just to make him stop smiling. In the editing process I sharpened it and I edited the composition. I think this photo is okay. It isn't amazing but I don't think it stinks.
Summary
I liked how brief they made the comments beneath the picture, I learned from it but didn't have to slog through. I learned that shadows can be really helpful or become the picture instead of the person who throws the shadow. I learned that having a part of a picture unfocused can make it seem more mysterious since you can't see the person in the picture very well. I don't think I can do certain techniques from the article because some of them are blurred.
I learned that when you underexpose you look to the lighter parts of the image so that will be helpful when you want the audience to look at certain parts of the image. It makes sense to me that you would use props to enhance the image. I if you had props you could really create a amazing image. It makes sense to me that you would have some serious photos to go along with your smiling ones. It would seem fake if you had a photo gallery and you were trying to show a town's culture and everyone in the photos was smiling. Normally there are some people who are having a bad day. (Or just more serious)

Before and After + Paragraph
I have a question about the editing process, is there a actual process? Or is it just edit using the tools on that list? I think this made me more familiar with what I should do when I edit. Just to get more practice was nice. I learned that really changing the Levels a little but could change the picture.

Second article
Man! Now I feel like I don't know that much about photography at all! I think its cool though how you can use lines to really change your image. But I do think that making everything in the photo balanced makes sense. So that it doesn't feel off-center. I do understand that if you really want someone to focus on the image change the aperture or just be super super close. I do have a question, what is the rule of thirds?
I know its some kind of guidelines which if your follow them you can take better photos. Also for this one I really appreciated the the photos that would help me get an idea of what they're talking about. To me actually seeing what they are talking about help me. Thanks jonny for assigning this! It went into depth on things that will help me in the future!

First article
Well for one, I liked the words the guy used. He spoke in words I actually understood and he didn't go all wordy and it just made sense. I think it was cool how he could show a stranger how to use his camera better in just 15 minutes! I understood what he was talking about because we had already talked about it in class but he really showed examples. The pictures he used really did have a big difference because of the f # and I think the pictures showed really well how it could change the photo.
To me I like how he gives reasons why you should do what he's talking about. Whether it will make things blurred so that you focus more on the one thing your supposed to focus on or wether it will just make the picture look better, his reasons made sense. I think its awesome how he told that guy that much in such little time. I don't think I could do that. (But that may just be because I don't know that much)
